Norway's Bank unexpectedly lowers the interest rate by 0.25 percentage points to 4.25 percent. The central bank simultaneously opens up for further interest rate cuts this year and predicts that the interest rate will reach 4.00 percent by the end of the year.

According to Bloomberg, the expectation was that the central bank would once again leave the interest rate unchanged.

It is the first time the central bank has changed the interest rate since they raised it to 4.50 percent at the end of 2023.
