Norway predicted a profit of 20 million kr after the World Championship in Granåsen last winter - instead it became a loss of over 30 million kr and now one is forced to further savings measures. In addition to previously known staff cuts, one is now cancelling a planned team competition in the World Cup in Nordic combined in Holmenkollen next season.

We want to focus on one day of cross-country skiing and one day of combination now that there were two 5-mile races on one day (in Holmenkollen), says Terje Lund, event manager at the Norwegian Ski Association. But the matter is also related to economy, since this event is not profitable for either the organizer in Kollen or the ski association.
