The European Commission wants to give the equivalent of SEK 92 million to people who lost their jobs due to Northvolt's bankruptcy.

The money, from the EU's so-called Global Adjustment Fund, aims to help the unemployed get back into the job market. The millions will also go to finance retraining and support for those who want to start new businesses, the Commission writes in a press release .

The proposal now needs to be approved by the EU Parliament and EU member states.
