North Sea oil is a benchmark in the energy market and, alongside the dollar exchange rate and Swedish taxes, is a decisive factor in gasoline and diesel prices in Sweden.
The price of fossil gas - which indirectly affects Swedish electricity prices - also fell to 48 euros per megawatt-hour on the Amsterdam Commodity Exchange. This compares with price peaks of close to 70 euros on March 19.
Before the U.S. and Israel launched the war against Iran on February 28, the gas price was just over 30 euros per megawatt-hour.
