North Korea's first attempt to launch a new warship in May in the port city of Chongjin ended in a "serious accident" and a damaged hull.
But now, the dictatorship's state-controlled news agency reports that a second attempt to get the 5,000 ton destroyer into the water has been successful, reports South Korean Yonhap.
The destroyer is the second that the country has completed this year.
Dictator Kim Jong-Un followed the drama in person and announced that two more destroyers will be built next year.
