North Korea has fired what is feared to be a ballistic missile eastward towards Japan.
The incident has been confirmed by both South Korea and Japan. According to Japanese media, the Defense Ministry in Tokyo fears that it is a test of a ballistic missile.
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is investing heavily in building nuclear weapons and the missiles that can carry them. They are used as bargaining chips in dealings with the West, and North Korea can now export weapons know-how to Russia, which is at war.
