With the Portuguese midfielder Miguel Martins suspended due to doping suspicions, the Danish handball club Ålborg is taking action.
The top club is buying out Norwegian Sander Sagosen from Champions League competitor Kolstad, and the transfer takes effect immediately, writes Ålborg on its website.
The midfielder played for Ålborg from 2014 to 2017 before playing for Paris Saint-Germain and Kiel. He moved to the ambitious Norwegian club Kolstad in 2023.
Ålborg's midfielder Martins has tested positive for doping – a message that came in connection with Portugal's World Championship premiere in January – and is suspended during the investigation.
For Sagosen, the home World Championship in Norway ended with an injury, and it is unclear whether he can play when the Danish Cup is decided this weekend.
