In Kramfors municipality, the Norrlandspartiet became the largest party with 25 percent of the vote. In the whole of Västernorrland county, the party received 7.3 percent of the vote in the municipal elections and 7.8 percent in the regional elections.
The party, which was formed in December last year, ran on a platform of greater autonomy and a fairer distribution of resources. In regional politics, the focus has been on three emergency hospitals in the region and expanded healthcare in Kramfors, Härnösand and Ånge.
People should have the right to care in the evenings and at weekends, even if they live outside big cities, says Elina Arab at the press conference.
