The season is only in its infancy, but both IFK Norrköping and Halmstad stood on just three points after the three initial Allsvenskan rounds ahead of the meeting in Östergötland.
The team that is still in a precarious situation is Halmstad. For within the span of just over two minutes, Norrköping took home the victory.
First, Icelander Isak Andri Sigurgeirsson finished off a pattern attack in the 59th minute. 130 seconds later, he played Christoffer Nyman forward to 2–0 after a new stylish home attack. In stoppage time, Ismet Lushaku also set 3–0 for Norrköping.
In Degerfors, Elfsborg took an important win to maintain contact with the top of the table. The goal scorer was Simon Hedlund, who in the 52nd minute at Stora Valla scored 1–0 on a penalty.
Referee Tess Olofsson awarded a penalty to the Borås team after Degerfors defender Leon Hien got the ball on his arm on a corner.
With just over a quarter of an hour left to play, Elfsborg was in a tight spot.
Then, the home team was awarded a penalty after Terry Yegbe got the ball on his hand. Captain Nahom Girmai Netabay stepped forward, but the penalty was very weakly struck. Elfsborg goalkeeper Isak Pettersson only had to stand still in the middle of the goal and pick up the ball, and the away team could hold on to victory.
