Norrköping increasingly close to securing a contract

IFK Norrköping defeated Värnamo with 2–1 in the crucial meeting for the relegation battle. With 31 collected points, much suggests that it will be Allsvenskan play for "Peking" also in 2025.

For Värnamo, the two final rounds of the football top division will be even more nerve-wracking. Only one point separates them from Kalmar FF in the relegation spot.

We knew this was an important match. We should have taken better care of it. There are two matches left. If the results go our way and we take our points, we have a great opportunity to stay in the top division, says Värnamo's Emin Grozandic to Max.

Värnamo has 27 points, IFK Norrköping now has four more than that. Historically, more than 30 points have been enough to stay in the top division.

It was the veterans who showed the way on Sunday afternoon.

Christoffer Nyman powerfully scored 1–0 in the 25th minute on Moutaz Neffati's pass. Then, Icelander Arnór Traustason secured the three points when he scored 2–0 from a difficult angle on a free kick pass from David Moberg Karlsson after an hour of play.

Samuel Kotto's reduction to 1–2 on one of many Värnamo corners gave hope to the home crowd, but the equalizer never came.

I don't have many words right now, says Arnór Traustason to Max.

The important thing is that we took three points. I'm very happy.

IFK Norrköping still has to face AIK at home and Djurgården away. For Värnamo, there are away matches against Brommapojkarna and a final home match against Elfsborg left.
