Norén dug himself a deep hole when he opened the Masters with a 77 on Thursday, trailing Rory McIlroy by ten strokes. Over the final three rounds, Norén kept pace with the champion. The Stockholm native finished tied for 30th, at -1 and eleven strokes behind McIlroy.
Norén, who had never even gone under par at Augusta before, finished with three straight rounds under par (71–69–70).
Now it suddenly feels like the future is much brighter on this path, Norén says.
He leaves Georgia ranked 19th in the world - with a very good chance of returning to the Masters in a year.
I'm eager to keep going. I don't feel that old, it's more that as the beard grows, it gets grayer.
