Hedwall, 35, is experienced in the context. Five times she has played for Europe – four times she has finished the tournament as a winner.
"I was so happy when Anna invited me to become one of her vice-captains in 2026 since the Solheim Cup has definitely given me many of the most important moments in my career. Anna and I have shared so many experiences, both on the tour and in European teams together. I feel that we are very coordinated in our thoughts on how we can contribute to ensuring that the European team can perform at its best." she says in a press release.
The Solheim Cup will be decided at Bernardus Golf in the Netherlands on 7-13 September next year. The USA won the team competition in 2024.
Anna Nordqvist has played nine Solheim Cups and won five. Next year's competition will be her first as Europe's captain.
