"Crash on the first jump, crash on the second - then the Olympic big-air final was about trying to enjoy it and making the last jump. I already knew it was over and just tried to take in all the impressions," says debutant Martin Nordqvist.

It doesn't feel good when you don't land what you planned, but overall I'm still satisfied with my performance here at the Olympics.

The 22-year-old from Kiruna made the final jump, finishing twelfth and last in Livigno with 58 points.

National team captain Oscar Wester:

In the third run he mostly felt like he just wanted to get something down because he was a little shaken up after the crashes. I'm very proud of what he did, a great effort.

Nordqvist, who felt a little pain in his back after the fall, now has his sights on the next Olympics in the French Alps in 2030.

Absolutely. I saw the level here today, so there's a lot of work left to do. But it's incredibly motivating.

The gold went to Norwegian Tormod Frostad with 195.50 points. American Mac Forehand took silver with 193.25, and Austrian Matej Svancer took bronze with 191.25 points.
