The network brings together representatives of projects, research and initiatives that work to strengthen singing in schools in the Nordic countries and autonomous regions. Now the network wants to benefit children who do not have a home environment or schools that encourage singing.
The initiators demand that singing becomes a recurring part of the school day, that teachers receive strengthened competence and that children have access to a living, inclusive Nordic cultural heritage. They also want to see singing as democratic training and Nordic knowledge and development work with earmarked resources.
The memorandum will be presented in connection with the Nordic Song Symposium in Odense, September 22-24.
