Nordfeldt not only held tight until Ukraine's late equaliser in the 90th minute, but his long, careful free kick also assisted Viktor Gyökere's 2-0 goal.
It felt really good the whole match, says Nordfeldt.
He had been in the squad for more than 100 international matches without playing. Now the opportunity arose when both Viktor Johansson and Jacob Widell Zetterström were missing. Nordfeldt made only his fourth competitive international appearance in his career - and got to celebrate with the fans afterwards.
"A fantastic feeling; it was almost like playing at home," he says.
On Tuesday, Poland awaits in a crucial World Cup playoff match at the national arena in Solna.
