Nordfeldt got the chance in the playoff matches against Ukraine and Poland, when both Viktor Johansson and Jacob Widell Zetterström were on the absentee list.
After guarding the goal in two straight victories, and helping Sweden to the World Cup, the goalkeeper had a hard time summing up his feelings.
"I think it's a little too close to give a good answer to that question. I'm enormously proud," says Nordfeldt.
He didn't have a perfect performance on the international stage. At club level he usually guards AIK's goal. For example, Nordfeldt should have saved Nicola Zalewski's 1-1 goal, which didn't look impossible to save.
"He shoots and gets a touch on our player. It's possible I could have done better," says Nordfeldt.
But what did it matter after Sweden's 3-2 victory that carried them all the way to this summer's World Cup?
