The Guardian, for example, gives “The Odyssey” five out of five stars and describes the film as a work of “breathtaking ambition, boldness, seriousness, generosity and a sense of style.”
Variety calls the film “a truly grand and courageous vision,” and Empire says it is “the very definition of an epic work.”
The Independent writes that “Nolan’s touch is all over the film - this is intellectual, brutalist and powerful Hollywood film, but it never wavers in its commitment to its understanding of the original.”
