László Krasznahorkai will not be available for interviews in connection with the awarding of the Nobel Prize. The Swedish Academy cites "health reasons".

Since the Swedish Academy announced the Hungarian author as this year's Nobel Prize winner in Literature on October 9, he has not made any public appearances.

László Krasznahorkai first withdrew from the opening press conference at the Frankfurt Book Fair and then from the Fólio literary festival in Portugal. On the latter occasion, his publisher cited health reasons.

Krasznahorkai will travel to Stockholm in December to receive the prize and deliver his Nobel lecture. However, he has "announced that for health reasons he does not want to hold a press conference or give any individual interviews," the Swedish Academy announced in an email exchange with TT.
