Emails in the latest Epstein files show that former Prime Minister Torbjørn Jagland discussed a family trip to Epstein's Caribbean island while he was chairman of the Nobel Committee. Such a trip would have been against the Nobel Institute's ethical rules, according to the institute's director, Kristian Berg Harpviken.
"If it turns out that Torbjørn Jagland has received significant financial benefits from Jeffrey Epstein, this would be contrary to our ethical guidelines," he said at a press conference, according to NRK.
Jagland denies that the trip took place and the director says that they are waiting for Jagland's statement before drawing any conclusions.
Jagland served on the committee from 2009–2015.
