The museum has been closed since 2017 for renovation. In 2023, Skansen expressed hope that it could reopen "within two to three years."
But the opening is delayed, according to Skansen's press spokesperson, Emelie Strömfors.
"Right now, long-term planning work is underway as well as certain initiatives linked to objects and exhibitions. We are working in parallel to develop a realistic budget and to secure funding for the extensive development work that needs to be done to be able to open to guests," she writes in an email to DN.
The museum is known, among other things, for paintings by Bruno Liljefors.
