Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo wanted to talk world peace with Donald Trump. British journalist Piers Morgan, a good friend of the American president, arranged for Ronaldo to travel to the United States and the White House – but no actual conversation took place.
Ronaldo was only invited to the banquet that was given after the agreement with Saudi Arabia to buy American fighter jets.
He also had a chat with Trump's youngest son Barron, 19, who is a big supporter of Ronaldo.
Trump mentioned Ronaldo in his speech at the dinner and said his son was impressed to meet the soccer star.
"I think he respects his father a little more now just because I introduced him to you," Trump told Ronaldo, according to the AP.
