No operator has reported interest in taking over the night train traffic between Stockholm and upper Norrland, reports järnvägar.nu. The tender period expired on June 3.
We have no explanation for this, I do not know why it has become like this, says Dan Lundholm, contract administrator at Trafikverket, to the site.
The trains are now operated by SJ which will continue with it until December next year.
Jan Kyrk, business manager at SJ, says in a comment to järnvägar.nu that SJ never comments on procurement processes where the company participates, but that it is "obvious" that SJ has not submitted any tender this time.
He also says that SJ would like to continue operating the night trains, but that the terms of the procurement must be realistic.
