A total of 53 shootings occurred between January and August this year. Last year's figure for the same period was 114.
Recently, the authorities noted that Gothenburg had gone an entire year without any fatal shootings.
The number of explosions has also decreased during the period - 75 detonations this year compared with 139 during January-August 2025.
