No one was killed in shootings in Sweden in August, police say

During August, four shootings occurred and one person was injured, according to a police report.

The month follows a downward trend over the year, with fewer shootings and fewer injuries and deaths.

A total of 53 shootings occurred between January and August this year. Last year's figure for the same period was 114.

Recently, the authorities noted that Gothenburg had gone an entire year without any fatal shootings.

The number of explosions has also decreased during the period - 75 detonations this year compared with 139 during January-August 2025.
