Swedbank's former CEO Birgitte Bonnesen is denied a hearing in the Supreme Court when the main hearings are to be held, reports Dagens Industri.
It has previously been announced that Bonnesen has been granted leave to appeal in the Supreme Court regarding the case of aggravated fraud after being sentenced to prison in the Svea Court of Appeal for aggravated fraud.
However, a new interrogation of Bonnesen, as the former Swedbank CEO has demanded, is not currently in question.
"No special reasons have emerged for allowing additional questioning of Birgitte Bonnesen. The request for this is rejected," the Supreme Court writes in its decision.
The special thing about the case has been that it is considered to be of fundamental importance, as the outcome could influence how business leaders choose to communicate with the market. A conviction has been considered to be able to influence them to become more restrictive.
The date for the main hearing in the Supreme Court has not yet been set.
