During the summer, the police investigated a possible connection between three deaths in Skellefteå, since the three deaths had similarities and the individuals worked at the same workplace.

A first forensic examination could not provide a clear answer to what caused their death, and no connection between them could be found.

A more comprehensive analysis has since been conducted regarding the third death. "It is still not possible to establish a cause of death. However, there is nothing to suggest that the cause of death was exposure to a hazardous substance", the police write on their website.

Most indications suggest that the death was natural, i.e. caused by illness, but no exact cause of death can be established. There is no suspicion of crime behind any of the deaths, and the investigations are being closed.
