Tiger Woods will not participate in next week's major tournament on the PGA tour, The Players Championship.
The announcement was expected, after his mother's passing in early February, Woods has competed and trained to a very limited extent. Apart from a training round with President Donald Trump on February 9 and playing in the indoor league in simulator golf, which Woods is the initiator of together with Rory McIlroy, Woods has not touched his golf clubs according to himself.
The tournament The Players Championship is traditionally seen as the fifth largest during the season after the four so-called major tournaments. Woods has not played the tournament since 2019 due to, among other things, injury problems.
