Buffalo has clearly turned around a previously difficult start to the NHL season - and has now secured its ninth straight victory. At the same time, Olympic hopeful Rasmus Dahlin was back in the team's lineup.

Buffalo captain Rasmus Dahlin was in Sweden over the Christmas break to be with his fiancée Carolina Matovac, who underwent a heart transplant earlier this year. The defenseman was back on the ice in Tuesday night's game against St. Louis, which ended 4–2.

The very first goal of the match was scored by Swede Noah Östlund just over two minutes into the first period for Buffalo. St. Louis' Swedish player Otto Stenberg had an assist on the 1–1 goal, also in the first period.

On Friday, Tre Kronor's squad for the Olympics in Milano-Cortina in February will be announced. Rasmus Dahlin has already been selected.
