The incident occurred while backcountry skiing in an area northwest of Lake Tahoe on Tuesday. The body of the last missing person was found on Saturday, U.S. media reported.
According to families of some of the deceased skiers, they were experienced off-piste skiers, ABC News reported. The group, which consisted of both guides and visitors, set out despite bad weather and high avalanche danger. Nine people died and six people survived the avalanche.
The incident is being investigated by police and the U.S. equivalent of the Swedish Work Environment Authority.
