Video game manufacturer Nintendo has postponed pre-orders for its upcoming game console Switch 2 in the USA. This is due to the comprehensive tariffs imposed by the Donald Trump-led government.
Japanese Nintendo wants to first "assess the potential impact of the tariffs and market development". Pre-orders were to begin on April 9. No new date has been specified, but according to the company, the actual launch date for the console remains unchanged on June 5.
Nintendo is reported to have moved part of its production to Vietnam and Cambodia, countries subject to tariffs of 46 and 49 percent, respectively, by the USA.
