Police were called last week after a neighbor heard “the sound of a child” coming from inside a car in a village near the Swiss-German border. Inside the car, police found the boy naked and in the fetal position, covered by a blanket and sitting on a pile of garbage and feces.
He was clearly malnourished and had lost the ability to walk after being in a sitting position for an extended period.
The father, who is now suspected of kidnapping, claims he locked the boy inside to prevent him from being taken to a psychiatric clinic. The father's partner is suspected of failing to help a minor in danger.
