Nine held on suspicion of violent rioting after Gothenburg derby halted by police

Things turned chaotic during Sunday's derby between Häcken and IFK Göteborg. Nine people were in police custody on suspicion of violent rioting, Göteborgs-Posten reports.

The Allsvenskan derby on Hisingen was halted midway through the second half when police entered IFK Göteborg’s section. Before that, away fans had set off pyrotechnics twice.

Fifteen people were arrested in the stands and, according to GP, nine were in police custody before midnight on Sunday.

Häcken won the match 1-0.
