It was in the fourth game of the round of 16 on April 25 that Lundkvist suffered a skate to the face from Michael McCarron after Lundkvist brought down the Minnesota forward.
A bleeding Lundkvist left the ice on his own, but he did not return to the game or the playoffs.
"I was pretty lucky in an unfortunate situation," Lundkvist said at a Dallas press conference after the season ended.
Minnesota won the round of 16 with a score of 4–2.
