Japanese Nikkei 225 was at lunchtime up with moderate 0.3 percent. At the same time, the camera company Nikon's curve is pointing very steeply upwards, and had at the same time risen 21.7 percent after reports that Essilor Luxottica – which among other things owns the sunglasses brand Ray-Ban – wants to increase its ownership share in the company.
Upwards is also the trend in Mainland China. Shenzhen's and Shanghai's composite indexes are rising by 1.3 and 0.3 percent respectively. Hong Kong-based Hang Seng is up 0.1 percent.
South Korean Kospi is trading at an unchanged level.
