In March, Niklas Eriksson was forced to leave his position as head coach in Örebro after eight seasons.
Now it is clear where the 57-year-old will continue his coaching career.
"I will contribute my personality and my philosophy, which is very much about having a good foundation to stand on and constantly doing good things in everyday life. I also think it is important to have a development mindset - that we should get a little better every day. Now it will be fun to be here in Jönköping," says Eriksson in a statement on the ice hockey club's website.
HV71 secured their SHL place after a qualifying game against Leksand. Shortly afterwards, then-coach Anton Blomqvist was forced to resign.
