Nils Åke “Nikke” Ström was born in Jonsered, outside Gothenburg, in 1951 but grew up in Karlskoga. He played in the pop group Cads in the 1960s and then moved back to Gothenburg, where he played in various prog bands, including Nynningen.
In 1976 he became the bassist for the National Theatre, a group that had started as part of a theatre project but later became a pure rock band. He was a member until 2014.
He also played with Peps Blodsband, as part of Totta Näslund's Bluesband, and in recent years with artists such as Kristofer Åström, Stefan Sundström and Louise Hoffsten.
Nikke Ström turned 75.
