With just over a minute left in the second period, HV71's Jonathan Ang opened the scoring, and Joona Luoto made it 2–0 at the start of the third.
In the final minutes, Leksand pressed hard, and on the power play Lukas Vejdemo managed to reduce it to 1–2. But despite 33 shots - 15 more than HV71 - the home team failed to equalize. Instead, Luoto extended the lead with an open-net goal.
"We have a lot of chances, but we simply can't get them. A couple of huge chances. It's clear that it's tough," Leksand coach Johan Hedberg told TV4.
The loss means that HV71 leads the match series 3–0 and that Leksand is now playing with a knife to the throat.
