The Nigerian chef Hilda Baci sets a new record with a large cooking of almost nine tons.

”The largest serving of Jollof rice in Nigerian style – 8,780 kilos”, Guinness World Records states on Monday.

The preparation took place on Friday in a six meter wide pan. It took around five tons of basmati rice, 600 kilos of onions and 750 kilos of cooking oil to mix the final result. About 8,000 cheered on Baci and her assistants.

”We did it again”, Baci writes on X.

She has previously set another record when she cooked food for 93 hours straight in 2023. That record was however later surpassed by the Irish chef Alan Fisher.
