”I am where I want to be, this is my home”, says Williams in a statement.
The Spanish national team player has signed a contract that extends until the summer of 2035.
Nico Williams has been the subject of rumors during the summer.
Already last season, there was talk that the player, who was a success during the European Championship in Germany 2024 when Spain took gold, would make a transfer to league rival Barcelona.
A move never happened then, but this summer it has been closer than ever according to reports. Athletic Bilbao's supporters believed so strongly that a transfer would happen that they vandalized a mural of Williams in anger.
In 45 appearances, the Spaniard scored 11 goals and 7 assists last season.
