Niclas Wennerlund was nominated for his commitment to people with disabilities. His organization Bara Vanlig offers training, movement and community for people with disabilities at several locations in Sweden.
"I see the prize as a voice for all the invisible, for those who don't really fit into the puzzle and who have difficulty finding a place in society," says the prize winner in a press release.
Other nominees for the 10,000 kronor prize were artist Sofia Jannok and actor and author Olof Wretling. The prize will be awarded during the Gothenburg Book Fair.
