On Monday, the former AIK player was presented by Brazilian club Internacional. The deal is a loan with an option to buy.
"Inter is a giant. It's an honor to be part of this club," Niclas Eliasson said on the club's social media.
The move means that Eliasson, who has made nine appearances for Sweden, will write a new page in Swedish football history when he becomes the first blue-and-yellow player to play in the Brazilian league.
The winger goes from the top of the Greek league to the bottom of the Brazilian one as his new club is one point above the relegation zone.
