Analyst Jack Han and Tommy Boustedt are also joining the national team staff.
"My role will be to ensure careful and comprehensive coverage of players in the SHL and elsewhere in Europe, as well as to provide support in the sporting assessments prior to selections," Boustedt said. He left the role of general secretary of the association in 2020 after a turbulent time.
Instead of assistant captains, Grönborg will "attach active club coaches" to the national team ahead of tournaments.
