The charity record includes, among other things, the new song "Michelangelo" by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and a reworked "California Dreamin'" by Jarvis Cocker, writes Billboard. Primal Scream, Gary Numan, and Devo are other artists participating.

Artist Kevin Haskins and producer Nick Launay are behind the initiative. Both had to evacuate in Los Angeles, but their homes were saved when the fires were extinguished.

"Nick and I were lucky. So many musicians I know lost everything," said Kevin Haskins in a statement.

The record will be available on the American website Bandcamp, and the revenue will go to Sweet Relief, a non-profit organization that helps musicians in need.
