According to nhl.com, the Swede was operated on Monday for an injury to the lower body that he got in the training match against Calgary on Wednesday.
The medical assessment is that the 24-year-old will be away for eight to ten weeks. Vancouver starts the NHL season against Calgary on October 9.
Höglander played 72 matches last season and made eight goals and 17 assists.
