Tonight's game between Filip Forsberg's Nashville and Lucas Raymond's Detroit starts at 8:00 PM.

The goal is to attract more European fans to the league - which can usually only be followed at night in Europe.

There are challenges in doing this for a sport that is played in and adapted to North American time frames - and in determining what is best for television audiences and spectators at the arenas, says Keith Wachtel, head of NHL Business, to TT.

In order to be able to broadcast more such games in prime time, the teams must, among other things, approve changed start times.

Another way for the NHL to attract a new audience is by moving games to Europe. As recently as November, two games were played in Stockholm.

Detroit–Nashville is broadcast on SVT24.
