NHL veteran Dennis Hull dies at 81, leaving a lasting impression

Dennis Hull played 14 seasons in the NHL, 13 of which were with the Chicago Blackhawks, during the 1960s and 1970s. He scored 654 points in 959 games, and another 67 points in 104 playoff games. He participated in five All-Star games.

The forward played alongside his older brother, superstar Bobby Hull, in Chicago.

Dennis Hull died on Friday, his family confirmed on Saturday.

"Dennis had a distinguished career, and he left a lasting mark not only on the Blackhawks but also on the game itself," Chicago Blackhawks owner Denny Wirtz said in a statement.

"We mourn his passing."
