The superstar Leon Draisaitl decided the game for Edmonton away against Detroit. This after a pass from the Swede Mattias Ekholm – who was heavily praised afterwards.
I have rarely received a better pass or had an easier time controlling a puck. It was world-class, says Draisaitl to NHL's website.
Ekholm's pass found Draisaitl by the far post, who easily could control the winning goal. A goal that came just 18 seconds into overtime and meant 3–2 and bonus points to last year's finalist Edmonton.
Ekholm was also credited with an assist to Edmonton's 2–2 goal in the third period. In nine matches this season, he has made seven points and is thus the top scorer among Edmonton's defenders.
