Toronto's Calle Järnkrok has had a tough 2024 behind him. Last season, he largely missed out due to injuries, and so far this season, he has not played a single match.
Now comes the next setback for the NHL Swede.
Toronto confirms on its social media that the 33-year-old, who was fostered by Brynäs, underwent surgery for a herniated disc on Monday and will be out for several months.
The Swede missed 30 matches in the regular season last year, but managed to become game-ready just in time for the playoffs.
Toronto has started the season well and is second in its division after 11 wins in 19 matches. Järnkrok is in his third season with the club.
