On 14 and 16 November, it will be star-studded on the ice at Avicii arena when two regular season matches are played on Swedish soil in NHL hockey, part of the NHL Global series.
Pittsburgh Penguins with stars like Erik Karlsson and Rickard Rakell, who represented Sweden in the Four Nations tournament, as well as Sidney Crosby and Jevgenij Malkin, will play abroad for the first time since 2008.
They will face Filip Forsberg's Nashville Predators. The 30-year-old Forsberg, who is Nashville's top goal-scorer of all time, also played the Four Nations with Sweden in February.
NHL's entry into the Swedish capital is nothing new. A total of 16 regular season matches have been played in Stockholm, which is the most of all cities outside North America. The first was played in 2008 when Pittsburgh faced Ottawa in two matches.
