The star forward made a comeback this spring after his nearly three-year battle with a knee injury. He played in five playoff games with Colorado, scoring four points, one goal and three assists.
This season, Gabriel Landeskog is in from the start – for the first time since 2021.
After four assists in 16 games, he finally found the goal, and it was in the summit clash at home with Anaheim. The 32-year-old made it 2-1 in the second period and showed the way to the 4-1 victory.
The hit was Landeskog's first in the regular season since March 5, 2022.
"Is it that long ago? Haha, yes. It was hard, but it was about time and it felt good that it counted," he tells the newspaper.
Leo Carlsson scored Anaheim's only goal, making him eleven in 16 games. With a total of 26 points, he is second in the NHL's scoring league.
In addition, the Swede reached 100 points in his career and is the youngest ever in Anaheim history to achieve the feat. It took the Värmland player 147 games to reach the milestone.
"I've never seen Leo live before and I'm very impressed. He's big and a good skater and has a fantastic technique and shows that he dares to use it," says Gabriel Landeskog.
