Zibanejad played at the Olympics in Italy for Tre Kronor.

But he will not play at the World Championship in Switzerland.

"I was feeling how the season had been, playing at the Olympics, and how my body felt, so it wasn't an issue. It wasn't really a long conversation," says the 33-year-old.

Previously, Mikael Backlund, among others, declined - but players such as Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Oskar Sundqvist have chosen to play at the World Championship for Tre Kronor.

Tre Kronor will begin the tournament against Canada on May 15.
